What you can report

Anyone, with or without an account, can tell us about content on Pecheca that they believe:

  • depicts or suggests a minor, or anyone who could be taken for one;
  • depicts a real person, or uses a real person's likeness;
  • depicts sex without consent, or other abuse;
  • infringes their copyright or other rights;
  • is otherwise unlawful, or breaks our Terms of Use.

You can also complain about a decision we took about your account, your content or your report.

How to report

  • With our contact form, whether or not you have an account.
  • At the support desk, when you are signed in: open a ticket under the topic “Abuse report” or “Content”. A message can be up to 500 characters long, and a new ticket can carry up to 3 images.

Tell us where the content is (the character or the screen), why you believe it is unlawful or breaks our rules, and how we can reach you. Reports from the European Union follow the same procedure; our Regulatory Information page has the details.

What happens next

  • A person reads every report. Reports are never answered automatically.
  • We acknowledge your report and address it within five business days.
  • Content that may be unlawful is taken off sale while we review it. If there is evidence of illegal content, we remove it immediately.
  • We tell you, and the creator of the content, what we decided.

Your report is confidential: the creator of the content does not see your name or any information about you.

Illegal content

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material and for any content that sexualizes, exploits or endangers children. We remove such content at once, ban the account that uploaded it, and report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Our Child Sexual Abuse Material Policy is on the Regulatory Information page.

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police at once.

Real persons and likeness

Every character on Pecheca must be fictional, and we do not accept photographs, video or the likeness of a real person. If you believe a character depicts you, or someone you act for, tell us which character it is and why. A character that depicts a real person is removed.

Copyright (DMCA)

If you believe that content on Pecheca infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent, the Copyright Compliance Department of MediaSensu LLC, through the copyright topic of our contact form. Section 3.2 of our Terms of Use gives the agent's full contact details and lists the information your notice must contain.

We remove or disable access to content that infringes, notify the creator or user who published it, and terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. A creator or user whose content was removed may send us a counter-notice, as section 3.2 of the Terms of Use describes. Knowingly false notices or counter-notices may lead to liability and to the suspension of your account.

Appeals

If we restricted your account or removed your content, or if you disagree with what we decided about your report, you can complain about that decision within six months after we told you about it. Write to us through our contact form, giving the e-mail address of your account or the one our decision was sent to, and tell us why you believe the decision was wrong. We may reverse a decision that your complaint shows was unjustified.

If you are in the European Union, you may also turn to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body, as section 15 of our Terms of Use describes.

Creators

If content you published is reported, we may take it off sale while we review it, and we tell you what we decided and why. You must cooperate with us in handling the complaint, and you can appeal our decision as described above. See also For creators.

Law enforcement

Law enforcement authorities can serve a valid court order, subpoena, search warrant or equivalent document by first writing to us through our contact form and sending the document by e-mail in reply to our answer. Section 12 of our Privacy Notice sets out the conditions.

We cooperate with law enforcement investigations, and we report apparent child sexual abuse material to NCMEC.
