Who can be a creator
A creator is a player who can also publish characters in Pecheca. If you are an artist who wants to publish your own work, choose the account type Creator when you sign up. You must be 18 or older.
How to apply
- Create an account on this website and choose the account type Creator.
- Tell us about your work: you can add up to three links to your portfolio.
- Tick the creator statement: “Everything I upload is my own work or licensed to me, depicts only fictional adults and no real person, and breaks no law. I accept the creator terms: I transfer to MediaSensu LLC the ownership of every character I submit for review, and Pecheca may reject any character I submit, suspend or close my account and refuse a payout if it considers that I break its acceptable-use terms.”
- Enter the activation code we send to your e-mail address. Where the law of the place you sign up from asks for an age check, you pass it next, as our Age Verification page explains. Your creator portal then opens.
What you upload
For each character you make in the creator portal, you provide:
- its name and its story in each language, a race from a list, a combat mode and, if you wish, an age;
- a portrait, cropped in the portal to 480 x 832 pixels (PNG or JPEG);
- animation clips made from your own image sequences (PNG or JPG images, up to 2048 pixels on each side and up to 300 frames per animation), packaged with the Pecheca Minter desktop app; each clip has a category, a name and, if you wish, its own price;
- if you wish, a limited-time offer: an 800 x 300 banner for each language and a proposed price. We set the offer's terms.
You can hold up to 10 characters. Each file you upload can be up to 48 MB, and all your uploads together up to 2 GB.
What is not allowed
Even in fiction, you must not upload anything that depicts or suggests:
- a minor, or anyone who could be taken for one;
- a real person, including photographs, video or a real person's likeness;
- sex without consent;
- incest;
- bestiality;
- violence, torture or other harm to anyone;
- anything else that is unlawful, or that you have no right to use.
Creators cannot use AI image generation on Pecheca: you upload finished artwork that you made or hold the rights to. The full rules are in our Terms of Use.
Ownership of your characters
When you submit a character for review, you transfer its ownership to MediaSensu LLC, the company that runs Pecheca: the character itself, with its name, look, personality and story, and everything you made for it, from its portrait, clips and offer banners to its sketches and working files. Anything you make of a character that is ours is ours too, including the additions you prepare for it.
- If we reject a character, or you withdraw it while it waits for review, it is yours again. If you submit it again, it is ours again.
- Once we approve a character, it stays ours for good. We alone decide whether it stays on sale, what it costs, how it changes and whether we take it down, also after you stop being a creator.
- Without our written permission, you may not sell, publish or license the character anywhere else, or make new works of it outside your creator portal. Copies you published yourself before you submitted it may stay until we ask you to remove them.
- We may make new pictures, clips and stories of the character by any means, including software and artificial intelligence, and use it outside the game.
- While your creator account exists, your share of what players spend on the character is the whole payment for the transfer.
- Your other work, your style and skills, your in-game name and your personal data stay yours.
The full terms are in section 10.1 of our Terms of Use. Read them before you submit a character.
Review before sale
When a character is ready, submit it for review. It needs its portrait and its base clips first, and its offer banner if its offer is switched on. While it waits for review, you can withdraw it and keep working on it.
A person on our staff then approves or rejects it. When a character is approved, we sign its content, list it in the shop and tell you by e-mail. When it is rejected, we e-mail you the reason, and you can change it and submit it again.
Only approved, signed content loads in the game.
Pricing and earnings
You set the price of each character in Tokens, from 1 to 500. You can also give extra clips their own price, and propose a price for an offer. We may change a price.
While your creator account exists, you earn 50% of the Tokens players spend on your characters, their clips and their offers. If we refund such a purchase, your share of it can be taken off your earnings. Pings spent in the chat are not shared.
Your Sales page shows your totals and the figures for each character. It never shows who bought them.
Payouts
When your available balance reaches 10000 Tokens, you can request a payout on your Payouts page. A Token is worth $0.01, so the smallest payout is $100.00. Payouts are priced in US dollars.
Our staff review each request. Approved payouts are sent in a nightly run through our payout provider, Yoursafe, to your own Yoursafe account. You identify that account in your payout profile by its IBAN, with the account holder's name and country. We pay only to a Yoursafe account held in your own name.
Yoursafe accounts for individuals hold euro. A payout is credited to your account in euro, converted at the rate that applies when it is processed, so the amount credited can differ from the figure shown. Any conversion or transfer fees are deducted from the payout.
We e-mail you when a request is approved, rejected, paid or has failed. You can cancel a request while it waits for a decision. We may hold a payout while we look into suspected fraud or a breach of our Terms of Use.
Taxes
You are responsible for your own taxes. United States law requires us to collect a tax form from you, and we ask you for it before your first payout: Form W-9 if you are a US person, or Form W-8BEN (Form W-8BEN-E for a company) if you are not.
Depending on the form, your country and the nature of the payment, US tax may be withheld from a payout and reported to the US tax authority on the yearly forms the law prescribes. We store the form securely and keep it for as long as the law requires.
Your identity
When you sign up as a creator, you confirm in the creator statement that everything you upload is your own work or licensed to you, and depicts only fictional adults and no real person.
We pay only to a Yoursafe account held in your own name and identified by its IBAN. Yoursafe is a licensed e-money institution and verifies its account holders before it opens an account. The tax form we collect before your first payout carries your legal name and address.
Before your characters can go on sale, you verify your identity and age through Yoursafe ID, the identity check of Yoursafe, our payout provider. We receive the result of the check, never your document or your photos.
After approval
- You can change the price of a live character at any time. Everything else about it stays as approved.
- You can add new sets, stages and reward clips to a live character. Each addition goes through review before it appears in the game.
- The shop shows your character as designed by you, under your in-game name.
- You cannot take a live character off sale yourself. To ask for it to be taken off sale, contact support.
Complaints about your content
Anyone can report content through our Complaints and Content Removal procedure. If your content is reported, we may take it off sale while we look into it, and we tell you what we decided. You must cooperate with us in handling the complaint. If we remove your content, you can appeal within six months, as that page explains.
If your content breaks our rules, we can take a live character out of the game at once, suspend your account and hold your payouts.
Leaving
- You can withdraw a character while it waits for review.
- You can delete a character only while it is a draft or after it was rejected.
- To ask for a live character to be taken off sale, contact support.
- You can delete your account on the Account page, unless you have a character under review or a payout in progress. In that case, contact support to close it.
- Request your payout before your account is deleted: earnings not paid out by then can no longer be requested, and later sales earn you nothing.
